Cancellations and Insurance

When you book your stay with us you are entering into a legally binding contract. Cancelled bookings cause financial loss to the Abbey, as they often cannot be re-filled. In the event of a booking cancellation, therefore, with less than 6 months notice, 50% of the original fee will be payable; with less than 4 months notice, 75% of the original fee will be payable, and with less than 2 months notice, 100% of the original fee will be payable. For reductions in numbers expected, with 2 months or less notice, the cost of the bed per night for the reduced number of people will be payable and with only one week or less notice the full amount will be payable.

With the above in mind we have arranged a competitive insurance package to cover your booking. If you would like information about this insurance cover please ask at the time of arranging your Booking. Launde feels it is very important that you are adequately protected against unforeseen eventualities, both prior to your stay and during it. Accordingly we shall be including details of one such suitable method of insurance with your booking confirmation. We strongly recommend that you read the information and seriously consider taking insurance.

Children

Children must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for their supervision and must be aware of their whereabouts at all times.

Guests with Disabilities

We make every effort to meet the needs of all our guests, but our buildings and facilities do have certain limitations on account of their age. We do, however, have some ground floor rooms (both ensuite and not) in the Main House and Dairy for those with limited mobility while two of the bedrooms in the Stables are fully furnished for disabled guests. Please discuss any particular needs with David or Suzanne in the General Office prior to booking.

Walking

Launde Abbey is surrounded by beautiful Leicestershire and Rutland countryside. There are a number of interesting walks available on our doorstep. To take advantage of this we would advise you to bring walking boots and suitable outdoor clothes.

Pets

It is regretted that no pets or other animals except guide dogs are allowed at Launde Abbey.

Mobile Telephones and Emergency Contact Information

The signal for mobile telephones is poor at Launde. However, there are payphones both in the Main House and the Stables. (Please bring change with you). If you need an Emergency Contact for Launde the telephone (01572 717254) is either manned or is connected to the answerphone which is checked regularly 24 hours a day. A member of the residential community will pass on emergency messages outside normal office hours.
