Directions to Launde Abbey


Because of it's rural location Launde Abbey is best accessed by road.

From the M1(Junction 21) and M69, follow the Leciester Ring Road South (A563) and follow the signs for A6 and A47 to Peterborough. Launde Abbey is 14 miles east of the City of Leicester and is signposted in East Norton (Just off the A47)

Follow the signs to Launde turning right in Loddington, in about one mile cross the cattle grid and Launde Abbey is on your right.Launde is also easily accesible from the A1. Either from the A47 near Peterborough or through Oakham.

In Oakham drive over the level crossing turn left signposted to Leicester, then second left signposted to Braunston, drive through Braunston village, then after about two miles turn left signposted to Launde, cross two cattle grids, Launde Abbey is on your left.

By Rail

The nearest Railway Station is in Oakham (6 miles) where you would need to get a taxi to complete your journey to Launde.

From Oakham Station it is possible to get trains to Birmingham New Street, Peterborough, Stansted Airport and Leicester.

The nearest Airports are Birmingham International, East Midlands Airport and Stansted.. East Midlands Airport is only 45 minutes away by car. Birmingham and Stansted are both about 90 mins away by car.

By Bus
